George is one of the main characters in John Steinbecks novel, Of Mice and custody. In the climactic mo ments of the story, his retarded friend, Lennie, has gotten himself into a huge bind. As he had finished in the first place with mere mice and a puppy, Lennie accidentally killed Curleys wife when his cam rap of her hair turned violent. When Curley returned home at the end of the day, he open his wife dead in the barn. He at one time knew it was Lennies doing because he was the only one at that place at the time. Curley gird himself and gathered the rest of the men to lookup for Lennie. It seemed that Lennie was doomed to be tortured by Curley and the others, but George found him first.
